The Pedroches Valley region

The Pedroches Valley region is made up of a total of 17 townships. Throughout its history, paths, trails and more recently, public roads, have served to establish communication between its inhabitants, making it possible to develop its economy, from agriculture and livestock farming, to the development of services and hospitality.

The scenery changes considerably among the different areas that the route traverses, from the imposing castles, such as the one in Belalcázar, to the rambling stone walled paths that pass through the largest continuous holm oak pastureland in all of Europe; a place where the star of the surrounding gastronomy is bred: the Iberian acorn-fed pig.
