VALIDATE ALL THE WAYPOINTS

In each one of the townships along the route there is a plaque with the Al-Ballut logo. That plaque serves as a WayPoint, or checkpoint on the route. In this way, each cyclist can collect and accredit their passage through the 17 Waypoints, either by photographing themselves at each crossing point next to the waypoint, or by reading the QR code of each plate. You can also push the button “Waypoint detector” while standing in front of each plate.

The Waypoints are placed in noteworthy spots in each town, and we make it so that their locations encourage passing by interesting sites along the route, whether it be in terms of tourism and culture, or to find services at the disposal of cyclists, such as grocery stores, bars and restaurants, or accommodations for spending the night.

Each town has its own identity, and each time you ask for directions or where to find an establishment, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know more about each village.

We believe that a travelling biker always piques people’s curiosity, so we encourage you to break the ice, because it’s more than likely that those people will want to know more about the route you’re doing, where you’re from, or how many days you’ll be pedaling.

Help us spread the word about the route!

*UPDATE: IN DECEMBER 2022 THE WAYPOINTS OF THE 17 VILLAGES HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN ADDITION TO AN EXTRA WAYPOINT AT THE TOP OF THE VIEWPOINT OF THE ROUTE: THE CASTLE OF MIRAMONTES.

Where are the Waypoints?

HOW WAYPOINTS WORK

We have designed an application for the digital scanning of Waypoints. It works with your mobile camera, and you don’t need to download anything or register.

Steps to follow

1. Read the QR code of the first Waypoint at the beginning of your route. (Activate the location if the web requests it)

2. Click on “Generar Código de Seguimiento“.

3. Go back to the mobile camera and read the code again.

Congratulations!! You have already validated your first Waypoint!

A welcome message will appear on the screen with some information about the town where you are. (Sorry, for the moment it’s only in Spanish). From this moment on, the application is connected to your tracking code, and it will identify your passage through each town when it reads the successive waypoints placed along the route.

Remember that the Waypoints are placed in places along the track, always within the towns, with the exception of the special Miramontes Castle Waypoint, which is placed on a large stone next to the castle, at the end of the climb.

Other forms of validating the Waypoints

If for some reason you cannot access the digital checking, because your mobile is a Nokia 3210 (what a piece of history!) or because you don’t get along with technology, you can also prove your way through the Waypoints by taking a photo together to each plate or in the place where they are located.

In this way, you can prove that you have completed the tour.

In the same way, if you have a GPS device, the recording of your route will also serve to prove your passage through Al-Ballut.
